| Family Weeks at Shepherd's
Green |
| ...a little time out of the
busy days of childhood...to dance, to sing, to paint, to create...to
live each day in full measure...to give a child freedom to live
close to nature...
|
 Family
weeks at Noyes exists to provide an old fashioned childhood experience
together with elements of Noyes Rhythm. Days consist of simple routine--allowing
children, ages 2-12, and their accompanying adult a connection with
nature and exhilaration of joyful play and friendship. Make believe,
artistic projects, music and movement are explored without the interruption
of television, radio, or other electronic distractions. The warmth
and sharing of this multi-generational community encourages relaxation,
growth, and belonging. Chores are shared in a cooperative, family
spirit. |
Time
is set aside for pottery, swimming, sports storytelling, spontaneous
happenings, campfires, nature walks and rest. Families sleep in airy,
screened cabins. Some accommodations are available in the farmhouse.
An old barn has been adapted for theater and play. The Pavalon, snuggled
in a shady clearing, provides a natural setting for music and Rhythm
movement classes. The Art barn offers the canvas for a variety of
creative projects both guided and self-directed. Two potters wheels
and electric kiln are available. In the meadow are playing fields;
while the spring-fed lake allows afternoon respite. |
