Family Camping at Shepherds Green June 27- July 4, 2010

…a little time out of the busy days of childhood…to dance, to sing, to paint, to create…to live each day in full measure…to give a child freedom to live close to nature…

Family Week is currently thriving in the form of what we’ve dubbed Family Camping, a parent-driven and collaboratively-created week at beautiful Shepherd’s Green, partially hosted and supported by the women’s program at Shepherd’s Nine.

To: All Noyes Moms and Dads with young children – pre-teens; to Noyes Grandparents who would like to introduce young ones to Noyes Rhythm; to Noyes Aunts, Uncles and Guardians.

Shepherd’s’ Green property, Farmhouse, Red Barn, cabins, and kitchen will come “alive” once again with movements of creativity with joy and excitement! Sounds of music will radiate across the Rhythm floor and the green Rolling Meadows we have all come to love and cherish!
Noyes families, who are associated with Noyes Rhythm Foundation and its programs, are  invited to come for the first week of the camp season, which includes a 4th of July celebration and a memorial service in honor of our beautiful dancer Jeanne (Jan Palchen) Hoge for her family and dear friends of Noyes.

Shepherd’s Green Campus: Cabin rental fee on the Shepherd’s Green Campus  $250  per week. Families may share the cabins and the costs throughout the week Shepherd’s Green Cabins accommodate up to six people; dormitory-style. Washrooms are located in the Red Barn Theater.

Our cook,  Jan Janowski, who did a wonderful job last year cooking delicious and varied meals to accommodate the needs of the group, will again cook for us! Food, Cooks payment and Program Activities are shared and paid separately to Noyes Family Week Camp.

Families will meet together to plan the meals, and design the program, keeping some of the Noyes Jr. Camp traditions active. As has been our long time custom, chores to help in the kitchen as an assistant to the cook and clean up responsibilities will be rotated among the families. Rooms in the Farmhouse are available as well as family lodging in the cabins. Bring your own linens and bedding, clothes for fair or foul weather and temperatures ranging from hot to cool, bathing suits, towels, flash lights and bug spray.

Interested parents are encouraged to plan jointly for their children’s activities. The 9:00 A.M. Rhythm classes will be taught in the Shepherd’s Nine Pavalon for all attending. Parents working together will plan a fuller program of children’s activities for the day, including crafts, swimming, nature walks, and story hour in the library, pottery or drama in the barn. Extended Adult rhythm classes are available every morning at the Senior Camp for adults and pre-teens are welcome.  The Foundation in no way assumes responsibility for children when on the property. They must at all times remain in the care of their family.
Arrivals Sunday afternoon June 27th  unpack and enjoy a Sunday 6:00 PM Picnic Supper.
