| Noyes Costume
Florence Fleming Noyes established the tradition of wearing a costume
of leotard and tunic of
varying lengths and colors. The costume reflects the Greek ideals
of simplicity and beauty from which Noyes takes its inspiration.
The costume is graceful in movement and flattering to all wearers.
It consists of two lengths of material pinned at the shoulders and
is easy to make, or you may borrow a tunic when you get to camp.
Tunics are worn at all Noyes Rhythm classes and at all meals except
picnics.
|
| Noyes Atmosphere
Noyes has been defined as the development of a natural sense of
rhythm through freedom of movement. The rhythm overflows from movement
into all aspects of one's living. In order to assist in this process,
radios, newspapers, televisions and other distractions are left
at home. All campers are asked to contribute to the Noyes atmosphere
by shedding as many outside concerns as possible. |
