Noyes School of Rhythm Summer Program
July 7th-July 26th, 2025
This summer, we will offer three weeks of Noyes Rhythm summer programming. These weeks will follow a Monday arrival-Sunday departure schedule for each session. We will offer traditional Noyes programming in the mornings, including recreation class, technique, and reading, with afternoons dedicated to a range of activities including exploring the property, swimming, and the invitation to create artwork or sing. Evenings are dedicated to improvisational movement (Playtime), with a culminating evening of Saturday night performances. We will share daily work and enjoy a full program offerings as well as rest and relaxation.
If you are planning to participate for more than one week, please note that the last meal on Sunday will be breakfast, and there will be no programming or other meals offered on-site until the Monday evening supper cookout. Monday programming will begin with an afternoon playtime (improvisational dance session) at 5pm, followed by a campfire cookout and orientation to the week.
We are offering two types of weekly rates: cooperative work participant or retreat participant.

Come together for songs, harmonies, rhythms, and other delights. We’ll weave our way toward a repertoire, then share some favorite bits at Saturday night. No singing experience required, just a desire to explore your voice with others and make a joyful noise!

Masque work (myth- based collaborative dance piece) with Meg Brooker
In the context of movement classes, multi-modal afternoon sessions, and individual reflection, the group will explore themes from a classical greek mythological story. We will uncover essential qualities within the elements of the myth, enjoy embodying the archetypes, take inspiration from a piano score, and then craft and learn movement tableaus and flows. A group expression will be rehearsed and then shared at Saturday Night on the Pavalon and/or Rhythm Ground. Meg is a highly-skilled, experienced and generous as a facilitator of movement artistry and will choose a myth to enkindle our inner worlds and to suit the spirit of this summer.
